Conservation

Here at Burrum Biodynamics we value nature. Tania and Stephen have fenced off many areas that have evolved into beautiful native environments that are sanctuaries for flora and fauna. The largest revegetated area Burrum has stands a total of 17 hectares.

Tree Conservation

In 1992, Stephen and Tania started planting native understories at Burrum. Over time the number of Bulokes has increased tenfold. The red clay floor of the forest is now home to mosses, lichen and fungi. Today, the area is a beautiful sanctuary and is classified as one of the largest stands of Bulokes in the Northern Grampians Shire.

Tree Conservation

In 2021, Alicia and Morgan began planting new native corridors. 1.790 Trees were selected through green fingers Nursery in Stawell to match the local environment. The planting has been very successful due to good annual rain events in 2021,2022,2023.

Endangered Species

Burrum has many endangered species that are protected and cared for like Turnip Copperburr (can be seen on the left). In 2019, a total number of 420 Turnip Copperburr was counted by Tania.

Buloke Mistletoe

There are two types of endangered mistletoe at Burrum, a red flower known as harlequin and a white flowered native variety. A white one is near our woolshed and the harlequin can be seen from our front office.
