Ingredients
3 Cups Rolled Oats
3 Cups of Sprouted Lentils
2 Garlic Gloves
Optional: (1/2 Cup of Whole meal Flour of your choice)
1-2 Eggs / 1/3 Cups Oil (vegan)
1 Large Onion
1 tsp dried chili flakes
1 tbsp Stock Powder
1 tbsp Turmeric
Preparation
Step 1
Place the sprouted lentils in a pot, cover with water, and boil for about 20 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a food processor, combine the chopped onion, chili flakes, rolled oats, cooked lentils, stock powder, turmeric, and crushed garlic. Add flour if a softer texture is desired and blend until mixture is soft and well combined.
Step 3
With oiled hands take a handful of the mixture and shape into patties approximately 2 cm thick. Heat a generous amount of oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until golden brown on both sides, ensuring they don't stick to the pan or break when flipping. Repeat until all patties are cooked.
Step 4
Serve with fresh veggies or place the patties on a bun with your favorite toppings to enjoy as a delicious lentil burger.
